Tattoo Freckles: The Latest Trend From Meghan Markle

Tattoo freckles are a thing now! This tattoo style has been inspired by none other than the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, who did not shy away from flaunting her freckles under a sheer Dior foundation layer during her nuptials.

Following this, there has been a surge in demand for fake freckles or freckling, as tattoo artists refer to them. If you had been trying to hide those beautiful, natural freckles under layers of foundation, you would be delighted to know that your freckles are what people want as tattoos on their face, all thanks to Meghan Markle!

The billions who have seen her flaunt those beautiful freckles and that natural skin complexion are aspiring to mimic the exact look. American tattoo artist Gabrielle Rainbow said that the demand for faux freckles has since gone up, and she has been inundated with requests for tattoo freckles after the Royal Wedding that took place on May 19th. She has herself undergone a faux freckle procedure in 2017 and is quite happy with the results.

The world being interested in fake freckles has really caused an uproar in the tattoo market not just because of fans of the royal family but also due to Markle’s fan following all over the world.

What Does Meghan Have to Say About This?

Meghan Markle had said in one of her interviews with Allure that she loved her freckled look and she preferred not having freckles covered by makeup. She told the magazine that her freckles would usually be airbrushed or photoshopped out of pictures and her skin tone fixed, and this had become her biggest pet peeve.

Having been born to an African American mother and a Caucasian father, Markle had a difficult childhood based on the color of her skin, which raised questions about her ethnic identity. Who’d have thought that her freckles would become a worldwide phenomenon and people would come to embrace what Markle’s dad used to tell her, ‘A face without freckles is a night without stars.’ Truly, this starry night is what women all around the world are trying to achieve through freckling.

What Is Freckling?

These tattoos are nothing more than tiny ink marks on the nose and around it. These semi-permanent freckles look like obvious tattoos in the beginning, but over time, they take on a more natural appearance, similar to actual freckles. You can have these freckles vanishing from the skin in a period of 3 years.

These tattoo freckles take about an hour to complete, and fresh tattoos appear swollen just like bee stings. After a few hours, when the swelling goes away, you will have those tiny spots on the nose and around that area, looking just like actual freckles. In a month or two, when the ink colors fade, these faux freckles will look all the more natural. If you are worried about fading, color boosting is a possibility.

This adorable dusting of freckles over the nose is probably the best look you can achieve this summer! It’s trendy and hip and has been inspired by a duchess, our very own Meghan Markle from the popular series Suits.

If you are not a fan of permanent tattoos on the skin but want to mimic Meghan’s freckled look, use an eyebrow pencil to create a few spots on the nose and around the area. This freckled look is easy to attain and will not last a long time. Plus, you are not paying anything to achieve one of the trendiest looks of the year 2018!
