We all know that feeling when we really need to remove our nail polish but the bottle of polish remover is nowhere to be found. It’s usually around the same time when our nails are horribly chipped – so much so that we would rather just have bare nails.

But what can you do – after all, nail polish remover is the only way to take the polish off properly.

Well, this doesn’t necessarily have to be the truth. In fact, there are many more ways to remove your nail polish.

Here are more ideas on that.

We all love painted nails. However, removing it? Not so much. This might be because we are lazy or because we just don’t like the smell – some of us even forget.

But having chipped nails is not a good picture. Luckily, there are many ways to remove your nail polish in a pinch and it doesn’t include running like crazy to buy a remover.

Okay, one of them might.

Nail polish remover – This is an obvious answer. However, it’s really the best option. Especially nowadays when you can get all sorts of polishes, some of which are acetone-free. This one is clearly better for your nails but it might take just a bit longer than with the acetone. All you need is a cotton pad and enough of remover to clean your nails. You can also put your soaked cotton pads on your nails and wrap them in aluminium for a while.

Nail polish – Wait, what? It’s true – you can remove your nail polish with more nail polish. Use any color or a top coat, wait for about 30 seconds and then wipe it off with a tissue.

Rubbing alcohol based products – This means that you can use hand sanitizer, rubbing alcohol, hairspray, perfume, body mist, deodorant and so on. They need some time to work but they do work. Apply your product and let it sit for a minute and then wipe it all off with a cotton pad. For thicker polishes, you will have to work a bit harder but it’s a viable option.

There are many nail polish remover options out there, as mentioned. Some are with acetone and some are without but what you really should be avoiding are the toxic trio. These chemicals include toluene, DBP, and formaldehyde which are dangerous and used to be normal in nail products. Companies are producing better nail products because of this. Acetone is also very replaceable as there are more and more nail products without it.

What is the healthiest nail polish remover?
