Skincare Regime For Mature Skin

All complexions are important and require a skincare routine to appear glowing, healthy and youthful. This is especially true for mature skins. If you are in your 50s or above, your skin needs a daily regimen to ensure sufficient hydration, and other nutrients to keep the skin away from wrinkles, dark spots and sagginess.

Step 1: Cleanse Every Day

For those with mature skin, washing your face twice every day is imperative. However, simply washing it with a face wash won’t do, you need to thoroughly cleanse your skin. Cleansing helps with the removal of excess oils, dirt and other skin impurities that can clog pores and lead to acne breakouts and other skin problems. You must choose a cleanser that suits your skin type or one that has been recommended to you by your dermatologist. Make sure to use a cleanser that does not strip the skin of its natural oils.

L’Oreal Paris Age Perfect Nourishing Cream Cleanser has been formulated with replenishing oils that may be used to remove make-up effectively than other cleansers. This cleanser ensures a smooth and supple skin, without allowing it to over-dry. You must use it twice every day, gently massaging it onto the skin and then patting it dry.

Never sleep with your makeup on, as this has been the major cause of impurities and dirt accumulating under the skin surface, damaging the already mature skin!

Step 2: Moisturize Daily!

Mature complexions also require the same and sometimes greater moisturization than normal complexions do. Try and reach out for a moisturizer that contains glycolic acid. This is an alpha-hydroxyl acid that comes equipped with exfoliating and rejuvenating properties.

A moisturizer helps to lock the moisture into the skin, so using one post a shower session seems ideal. With the help of an anti-aging moisturizer such as Alpha-Hydroxy Acid Cream, not only can you effectively fight signs of aging, but you can also keep the skin looking and feeling soft, smooth and wrinkle-free. Dry skin and collagen are not considered healthy for a mature skin. You must keep the skin hydrated at all times if you are to mitigate the visible appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

If the use of glycolic acid causes irritation onto the skin, seek professional help immediately and discontinue use!

Step 3: Treat Dark Spots!

Dark spots are commonplace on mature skin owing to acne scars, sun damage, air pollution and hormonal fluctuations. These age spots must be dealt with if you wish to maintain a youthful skin, one that speaks for itself through its timeless glow. Dark spots are visible when excess melanin is produced onto the skin surface. This pigment is difficult to get rid of and it is bound to make you look older than your actual age.

However, treatment of these becomes necessary when your skin begins to mature. So, make sure you have incorporated in your daily skin routine an effective product such as Vitamin C Serum for the face to fight dark spots before they decide to cause a permanent damage to your skin. This serum is all in one solution to fight signs of aging and includes essential nutrients to keep the skin healthy, glowing and youthful.

Step 4: Eye Care Is Imperative!

It’s not only your facial skin that needs rejuvenation and a skincare regimen – the eyes are just as important.  When your skin starts to mature, the skin around your eyes takes the most impact. You will begin to notice rigidness around the eyes and visible crow’s feet in some cases. All of these should raise red flags meaning that your skin has started to age.

However, these aging signs can still be halted for another few years! You may use anti-aging eye creams to combat all signs of aging and ensure a soft and smooth skin around the eyes. But this requires incorporating the eye care as part of your daily skin routine. Use Neutrogena’s Rapid Wrinkle Repair Eye Cream for long-lasting effects!

Step 5: Use A Sunscreen!

For mature skin, the sun can be even more detrimental. It needs to be protected from the harmful UVA and UVB rays, especially if you spend most of your day under the sun. A broad-spectrum SPF must be applied on a daily basis to ensure minimal sun damage.

Sun radiation can lead to wrinkles, dark spots and other types of skin damage and diseases, and so protection is fundamental. If you have not been applying sunscreen yet, make sure to incorporate one in your daily skin regimen from today!  Also, make sure you have a pair of sunglasses and shades handy to avoid direct sunlight from reaching your skin and eyes.

So, if you have a mature skin, and you fall in the defined age-range, make sure you follow this skincare regimen and keep your skin free from all signs of aging!
